24-Hour & Live-In Care

Around-the-clock care, shaped around your loved one.

When a few hours a week is no longer enough, we are still there — day and night, overnight, or whenever the need arises. Serving families across East King County (Issaquah) and North Seattle, Shoreline & Everett, SYNERGY HomeCare builds flexible, continuous care plans that fit your family's actual schedule, not a rigid shift model. From a regular overnight to full live-in support, a caregiver is always close at hand.

  • From a few evening hours up to full live-in coverage
  • A caregiver present for emergencies, personal care and routine
  • No long-term contracts — the plan adapts as needs change

The difference between hourly, overnight and live-in care

Not every situation calls for around-the-clock coverage from day one. Care is flexible — it can start with a few evening hours and grow as needs change. Here is how the levels work:

  • Hourly care — a caregiver visits for a set number of hours each day or week. Right for someone who is mostly independent but needs a reliable hand at key moments.
  • Overnight care — a caregiver stays through the night — awake or on a sleep-in basis — to handle personal care, falls, wandering, or simply to be present when the household is most vulnerable.
  • Live-in care — one caregiver lives in the home on a rotating schedule, providing continuous, relationship-based support. Right for someone who needs a steady familiar face and cannot safely be alone for extended periods.
  • 24-hour care (shift-based) — two or more caregivers rotate in shifts so a trained, alert caregiver is always awake and available. Right for complex needs where continuous, active monitoring is required.

Signs that more continuous support may be right

If any of the following feel familiar, it may be time to talk through your options. A free in-home consultation is the right place to start — no commitment, just clarity.

  • Wandering, sundowning, or confusion at night (Alzheimer's / dementia)
  • A recent fall, injury or hospital stay that has left someone nervous about being alone
  • A progressive condition (Parkinson's, ALS, advanced cancer) where needs can change quickly
  • A family caregiver who is exhausted and needs a reliable partner through the night
  • A post-surgical recovery requiring active monitoring and personal care overnight

How care comes together — from first call to first visit

Our local care coordinators guide you through every step. Most families have a caregiver in place within days of their first call.

Free in-home consultation

A local care coordinator visits your home at no cost, no commitment. We listen, observe and ask the questions that matter — not just the medical facts, but the routines, the personality, what makes a good day.

A personalized care plan

We build a written plan around your loved one's actual schedule, preferences and level of need. Hours, overnight structure, specific support tasks — all defined before a caregiver ever arrives.

Caregiver matching

Every SYNERGY caregiver passes an extensive background check, is bonded and insured, and completes our training program. We match on more than availability — we consider skills, personality and interests, because the right fit changes everything.

Ongoing care and family communication

Our client management system gives family members real-time updates. As needs change, the plan changes. There is no locked-in contract, and we proactively reach out when something shifts.

Your questions on 24-hour & live-in care

Still wondering about something? Call any time at (425) 988-3759 — a real person will help you find the answer.

Is 24-hour care actually necessary, or can a few overnight hours work?

For many families, a few well-placed overnight hours or a steady evening visit are exactly right — and a far more affordable starting point. We help you find the honest answer during a free in-home consultation, because care should fit your loved one's actual needs, not a sales script. If the need grows, we grow with it.

What is the difference between live-in care and 24-hour shift care?

Live-in care means one familiar caregiver lives in the home on a rotating basis — powerful for consistency and relationship, but the caregiver does sleep overnight. Shift-based 24-hour care means two or more caregivers rotate so there is always someone awake and alert. Which is right depends on how active the need is overnight. We help you decide.

How quickly can continuous or overnight care start?

Often within a day or two. We recommend scheduling a free consultation as early as possible so we can build your plan and match a caregiver. For urgent situations, we move as fast as we can.

Do I have to sign a long-term contract?

No. Our service agreement adapts as your needs change. Whether care grows from overnight to 24-hour, or scales back as someone's condition improves, the plan flexes with you — never locks you in.
